REAP secure funding for the Roundhay Hedgerow

REAP have successfully secured funding from the Tree Council in order to plant 2500 trees around the RAGA allotment on Soldiers Field, near Roundhay Park. This project was made possible with the support of a grant from The Tree Council (www.treecouncil.org.uk) and Network Rail’s Community Tree Planting Fund. Working closely with RAGA and Leeds City Council, REAP are looking to plant a wildlife hedge with 15 different species and a full orchard with over 50 fruit trees. We have also been allowed to plant a wildflower meadow strip as well adjacent to the hedgerow.

We are looking for volunteers to come and help with planting in December (date to be confirmed) but if you are interested in helping to plant our new Roundhay Hedgerow, please drop REAP an email (info@reap-leeds.org) and we will send an email with details as to the date and time. Otherwise, please see our REAP News webpage and Facebook pages to confirm the date and bring a spade.
