Roundhay Environmental Action Project - REAP

About REAP

REAP was set up by Leeds Roundhay residents as a platform to promote practical local action on carbon reduction and the environment. We have been going for over 10 years!

Did You Know?

We have a REAP information stall at every Oakwood Farmers’ Market on 3rd Saturday of the month. Come and find out what we’re up to and give us your views.  Current activities include:

  • Getting involved in tree planting locally in response to Leeds City Council’s Climate Emergency
  • Working with Leeds City Council on planting trees in empty grass verges and re-wilding
  • Gas boiler replacement - developing options for householders

The trustees of REAP are:

Amanda Cottrell

Rob Greenwood

Jill Jones

Eleanor Moore

Alexis Percival

Barbara Whitehouse

What is REAP / what do we stand for?

The REAP trustees have recently put together a statement of our aims, achievements and activities.

We will use this to review and plan everything that we do.

Specifically, our aims are as follows:

  • Increase local awareness and understanding of the actions that must be taken to combat the Climate Emergency
  • Reduce local carbon emissions
  • Help people to move towards using renewable resources and creating less waste
  • Protect our local natural environment and increase biodiversity
  • Help build a sense of community
